Two Rivers Meats
Nourish Market is proud to be partnered with our friends at Two River Meats. They will be our supplier for all of our fresh and frozen meat products. Two Rivers Meats is a local North Vancouver company (like us) who also share our passion for great food. Two Rivers and their producers are committed to raising animals ethically and naturally, while farming the land sustainably. All of our meats are free of antibiotics, hormones and any chemical feed additivies. The result of all of this is a fresh, rich, natural flavour with the added benefits of better health. We strongly believe that people should know where their food is coming from, and that it was produced ethically and naturally. Try it and taste the difference for yourself.
Artisan Bake Shoppe
We also feature fresh baking from our friends at The Artisan Bake Shoppe. They are also a North Vancouver based company with strong ties to our community. They are crafters of pure and natural breads. Their goal is to back to the roots of baking by keeping the bread as pure as possible. No preservatives, no additives, no dough improvers, no artificial flavours, and no colourings. They use locally grown, organic flours. Providing people with healthy and organic food is their contribution for a sustainable lifestyle and for a better world. Thanks Ursula and Markus, for caring so much about your bread and your community.
Moonstruck Cheese
Fine Farmstead Cheeses from Salt Spring Island
Makers of fine organic cheese using the fragrant milk from our small herd of purebred Jersey cows. We treat our cows well because they are the foundation of our company. The healthier and happier they are, the more sweet and fragrant their milk is. Our job as cheese-makers is to not only transform milk into cheese but to preserve as much of that fragrant flavour as possible during the process. That is why we use simple, old-fashioned recipes.

Natural Pastures Cheese Co.
Our story is about green meadows, happy cows, fresh thinking and age-old cheese making traditions taking place in the lush landscape of Vancouver Island’s Comox Valley.
Natural Pastures specialty artisan cheeses are known for having a unique, delicious taste or “terroir”, developed from the fresh, pure milk which the pristine soils, waters and pastures produce here in the Comox Valley” comments Edgar Smith, “We only use fresh milk produced on our selected Heritage Dairy Farms, which practice sustainable farming and animal stewardship. The designation means that the farmers must be good stewards of the land. The animals are stress free and live in healthy environments. Because the cows eat the local grass and herbs, generously watered by Pacific Ocean-soaked rain, the milk used to make the cheese has its own “terroir” or distinct flavour. The term is familiar to wine-makers, where different regions have their distinct terroirs.

Honeyview Farms
Beautiful local honeys produced in Rosedale, BC.
We've been working with bees for over 35 years. Bees are an enigma. Everyone loves the wonderful taste of honey, but bees also sting! People are fascinated by this dichotomy. The first thing they always ask is‚ "Do you get stung?" And of course the answer is always, "Yes! A lot!" But beekeeping is not just about being stung. In addition to making honey, bees also make beeswax, pollen, royal jelly and propolis. In the process of going about their business, bees pollinate plants and trees that couldn't survive without their help. People find it very interesting that while each tiny bee will only bring in less than 1/4 of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime, a hive of over 100,000 bees can produce over 100 kg of honey in a couple of weeks! At Honeyview Farm, everyone - from the interested visitor to the amateur beekeeper - can learn about bees and beekeeping.
Bees are important to us and they are important to you. Apiculture doesn't have the high profile of dairy or chicken farming, yet it plays a vital role in agriculture. Many agricultural products are dependent on bees. Every year we put over 2,000 of our hives in blueberry fields in the Lower Mainland. We also pollinate raspberries and cranberries. When you eat BC blueberries the chances are pretty good that they were pollinated by bees from Honeyview Farm.

Avalon Organic Dairy
Jeremiah Crowley came out from Western Bay, Newfoundland in 1898 for the gold rush.
Arriving in Vancouver he found the gold rush over. He was so impressed with Vancouver that he returned to Newfoundland and brought his family with him to settle here in 1906. After purchasing a house on Wales Street, which came with 6 cows, he began to build up Avalon Dairy.
In the same year, he purchased acreage at 5805 Wales, which is the present location of the Dairy. The farm house was built in 1908 and is still in use.
Avalon is a family business. It is the oldest continuously operating Dairy in B.C.

A Bread Affair
A Bread Affair is a family-owned business that has been specialising in baking handmade artisan breads since 2005. Our bakery is situated in Langley, B.C. where the city meets the country. This location allows A Bread Affair to remain a part of the fabric of our rich agricultural community; able to know the producers and growers on a first name basis yet close to Vancouver and able to service the demands of artisan bread lovers in the lower mainland. Whether you know us from the bakery, your local farmer's market or any of the fine restaurants or retailers that use or sell our products, rest assured that you are enjoying a world-class product, handcrafted by skilled artisan bakers using only time-honoured methods, natural ingredients, and traditional stone hearth ovens. Food reviewers and food lovers have dubbed us "B.C.'s best bread" -- a compliment we take seriously. It starts with the understanding that bread is a part of the tradition of our country.
Oso Negro Coffee
Oso Negro began in 1993, when old friends Jon Meyer and Jim May—who'd worked together in the forest sector—decided the time was right for a change in careers. They started doing research, re-mortgaged their homes, and set up shop in a 200 square foot room overlooking Nelson's small, shady IODE park. Oso Negro, black bear in Spanish, seemed the right name for a couple of reasons. For one, it's an apt local symbol. For another, Jon is known for his dedication to unadulterated black coffee. Finally, they hoped the foreign words would serve as a reminder of how far coffee travels to reach us, and to consider and honour the people who grow it.
